Books, Books, Books,
Jul. 28th, 2005 11:54 amLast night Pita and I went out for Chinese in Berkeley and then went to Moe’s (a bookstore on Telegraph) and got a whole bunch of books. I LOVE used bookstores. I love everything about them – the smell, the walls and walls of books, the strange people reading on the floor… I got a lot of books for our trip, and I will just pick up two more fantasy novels and that will be it.
Kavalier and Clay – Michael Chabon
The Man in the High Castle – Philip K. Dick
Everything Is Illuminated – Jonathan Safran Foer
The Confessions of Max Tivoli – Andrew Sean Greer
Perdito Street Station – China Mieville
My Year of Meats – Ruth Ozeki
The Patron Saint of Liars – Ann Patchett
Snow – Orhan Pamuk
The other books that I am thinking about picking up are:
The Family Trade by Charles Stross
The Darkness That Comes Before by R. Scott Bakker
Something by Guy Gavriel Kay, but I’m not quite sure what.
