wow - i'm so upset about what's going on in LA. How could this happen? I know the the NO police are notoriously corrupt and poorly trained. I know that they must have many guardsmen and women in Iraq. but they have to have an emergency management system down there. i know that many southern states just don't have a lot of money and that has something to do with it. for example, in CA most people that I know have emergency supplies because we have earthquakes here. pita and i have an emergency plan and our families know what it is. but the only reason we do thatis because there's always been a lot of pr around it. you are told exactly what you should do in the case of an earthquake so that means that we are prepared and understand what we are supposed to do. i have no idea is our emergency management system will do what it is supposed to do in a disaster. but tax-paying citizens should be able to count on their government to be in charge in a crisis.

frankly you people with fingers pointing at those poor old and sick people in NO should be ashamed of yourselves. i hope you are never in a situation where you need to make those sorts of tradeoffs. in america if you are poor and black you are ass out. if you don't have a car, or you can't afford the $30 to fill the tank because it's the end of the month and payday is 9/1 how can you leave? you just suck for thinking things like and for being so unconscious of your own lack of compassion that you would post them in public as if it weren't grotesque.

and lastly i think there's a huge element of racism in the coverage and in the resources that are being allocated.
